Nephrology

Nephrology is branch of medical science that deals with the study of function diseases of kidney. Nephrology is concerned with the diagnosis and kidney diseases treatment including electrolyte disorders and care of those requiring renal replacement therapy,including dialysis and renal transplant patient. Diseases affecting the kidney are not only limited to organ itself ,but are result of systemic disorder and requires special treatment, such as vasculitides or other autoimmune diseases, such as lupus.

Hematuria : It is referred to hemoglobin in urine , the symptom of this disease is the presence of blood in urine. Hematuria is sign of large number of diseases of kidney and urinal tract that may be trivial to fatal.
v Proteinuria : Proteinuria is presence of excess of serum protein in the urine, since serum protein is readily reabsorbed from the urine, the presence of excess of urine is sign of insufficiency of absorption or impaired filtration. The symptoms of this disease is the presence of excess foam in urine.

Kidney Stones : Also known as renal calculi, is a result of concretion of mineral dissolved in urine, either in kidney or in ureter. Renal calculi can vary in size from sand grain to grape fruit, many times stones are formed and passed without causing any symptom but, if these stones grow to sufficient size , they can cause obstruction of ureter. The blockage of ureter may result in severe pain, most commonly felt in flank,lower abdomen and groin.

Hypertension : It is referred to chronically elevated blood pressure or high blood pressure. Hypertension is accompanied with the high risk of heart attack ,strokes and heart failure.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) : UTI is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract. When bacteria gets into urinary tract or kidney and multiply in urine they cause UTI. Although the disease causes discomfort but can be treated quickly and easily.
