Dental Implants
In a dental implant an artificial tooth root is surgically anchored into the jaw, this is a good solution for treating a missing tooth. The dental implants are root like devices, a post, made of titanium, screw-shaped threaded cylinders that are placed surgically into the jawbone by the surgeons in either the upper (Maxillary) and/or lower (Mandibular) arches of the mouth. The implants can be flossed and cleaned just like a normal tooth. These implants never require root canals and never develop decay thus these are the major advantages. There are some post treatment complications for patients suffering from diabetes or for those who have taken radiation therapy in the mouth area. In such cases patients are supposed to undergo rigorous screening process before going in for the surgery.

Porcelain Veneers
This procedure is highly effective in correcting crooked, stained, misaligned or chipped teeth and is also known as dental porcelain laminates or dental veeners. These are basically thin shells of porcelain that are bounded on the front side of the tooth so that there is cosmetic enhancement of the tooth.

With proper care the patient can expect that the porcelain laminate remains pleasing for more than 10 years. Care should be taken not to expose the porcelain veeners to excessive forces, grinding and clenching of tooth and staining influences. The major disadvantage of Porcelain Veeners is that it may come off at any time or break and the process is irreversible.

Dental Bridges
This is an excellent procedure to bring back a glamorous smile even after tooth loss and this procedure the dentist fills the gap caused due to tooth loss. A dental bridge is made by two dental crowns for the teeth on both the sides of the gap and a false tooth in between. Natural teeth, dental implants or a combination of natural teeth and dental implant is used to support the bridge. The price is variable depending on the kind of dental bridge you choose. The different types of dental bridges available are-
  • Cantilever Bridge
  • Traditional Bridge
  • Maryland Bonded Bridge
Certain care like regular dental check ups, brushing and flossing would keep the dental bridge and oral health in supreme condition. Dental bridge suits your varied requirements like, temporary or permanent tooth loss solution. Proper care and attention extends the life of the dental bridge.

Dental Crowns
Dental Crowns are a good option for badly damaged teeth and are useful in such cases of cracked tooth, large decay, large old filings, sensitive tooths, root canal therapy. The procedure involves usage of tooth-shaped coverings, made of metal, ceramic, or porcelain to restore strength and eliminate discomfort. The selection of the dental crown depends on the specific needs of the patient and the doctor's suggestions. A dental crown ideally lasts for 5 to 15 years and is replaced if it is broken or faces a decay.

Dental Scanning
Dental scanning is a latest dental procedure that involves a dental and soft tissue scanning method and system that uses fast laser line scanning methods of negative image impressions, wherein a array of electronic data is generated. In the operation procedure the array of negative image scan data is generated with the help of a scanner 60 and provided to a processor 501. Then the negative image scan data can be saved in a memory device 504 in the form of a permanent record of the baseline condition of the patient's teeth. The 501 processor involved in the system may convert the data to a positive image for display on a video display unit 503 for educational or teaching purposes. In the same manner the positive information data may be transmitted to a remote PC 505 for storage for the use of a consulting dentist or physician. This kind of a procedure is very helpful in knowing the entire condition of the patient's teeth and diagnose accordingly.

Gum Grafting
Gum grafting is a procedure that involves replacement or restoration of missing bone or gum tissue. In this process a graft is used to replace the missing or receded gum tissue. There are two varieties of gum tissue that are present in the mouth, one that surrounds the neck of the teeth, is thick and protective by nature and the other that lines the our cheek and floor of the mouth whose nature is to be mobile and elastic in nature.

Gum grafting is needed to replace the thick missing tissue which might have worn away owing to a varied reason. The main reason grafting is to minimize or stop the progression of recession. But, it has been found that in the process of gum loss there is eventually bone loss thus gum grafting arrests both the recession of gum as well as bone. The process restores back the thick zone of protective tissue that is found around the neck of the teeth.
